Deadly Women's Portrayal of Bernadette

Anonymous thanks for your question by email. I don't think that the Deadly Women's Episode was an accurate portrayal of Bernadette Protti. For one thing the accents were way off. They film these episodes in Australia I think. For some reason I think that the movie's character portrayed her more accurately. There was a lot of detail put into that movie. They producers did a lot of research, and a man who wrote an extensive article about the case was consulted about the people involved. I was glad to see that they featured this case, because it really is not featured alot. I have only seen it on the movie, the documentary, and this Deadly Women Episode. I'll have to watch the episode again to comment further.

Thanks for your question

I was one of kirstens best friends. I had just turned 16 when this happened. It robbed us all of our childhood and innocence.for 6 months i could not sleep alone because i was so freightened. Man times there were discussions in school about who did the crime that bernadette was a part of and she never showed a flicker that she was the murderer. I have never been able to get closure on this horrible tragedy. I was too young to process it and still cant believe it happened. Bernadette is a sociopath. She was not released on good behaviour do to her lack of showing remorse. She did premeditate the murder. She told her dad she was babysitting and that there were robberies in the neighborhood so to park the car at that house but she took the keys and drove it to pick up kirsten.the knife the sister claimed to have in the car was a carving knife. No way does someone drive to work cutting up vegetables with a carving knife!! She called kirstens family in advance so that she could pick her up. She used the excuse of the sorority. Maybe she had the knife to threaten her and she freaked out. But A LOT of details were planned.bernadette was fixated on kirsten.jealous of her. Wanted her boyfriend, brent. Wanted to be a cheerleader like her and wanted to be a bobbies member like kirsten.it was very creepy. She was also jealous of the friendship kirsten had made with a girl bernadette had known for years prior at a catholic girls school. It was quiet storm. Bernadettes parents were overprotective and she was years younger than her siblings so they didnt pay the same attention to her. Sadly all the wrong buttons were pushed which pushed her to do such a heinous crime.

Bernadette was the youngest in her family, so she was most likely spoiled. She felt the world owed her something. She felt that she was owed everything Kirsten had. She wanted to be Kirsten. She couldn't, so she snapped.

I'm satisfied with Deadly Women's portrayal of Bernadette. I've always felt this was about Bernadette's obsession with Kirsten, not bullying.
